SHARON DHILLON
Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist
M.Couns., B.Psych.Sc.
I provide affordable, professional counselling and psychotherapy services in Singapore for individuals and couples. Sessions are available in person and online.
I believe that every person holds the capacity to heal, grow, and rediscover a sense of balance. When life feels uncertain or overwhelming, taking time to pause, reflect, and receive support can be the beginning of real change.
Whether you are weighed down by something painful, feeling lost, or simply unsure of the way forward, this is a space where you will be heard. We move at your pace, working toward what truly matters to you.
Together, we will explore your experiences, your relationships, and the parts of your story that shape who you are, and who you wish to become.
My Approach
My approach to counselling is grounded in one core belief: you matter, and your experience deserves care and respect.
Our work begins with listening. I listen carefully, without judgement or assumptions, and at your pace. If you are carrying something heavy, feeling stuck, or unsure where to begin, this is a space where you can speak freely and feel fully heard, without pressure or interruption.
I draw on evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and EFT to provide structure and clarity, but these are always shaped around you. Therapy is not about being analysed or fixed. Meaningful change happens when you feel understood, safe, and accepted as you are.
I work with difference rather than labelling it. If you have spent years masking parts of yourself, second-guessing your reactions, or feeling misunderstood, this is a place where you can finally set that down. Together, we focus on helping you feel steadier, more grounded, and more at ease in your own life.
How I Am Different
Therapy is most effective when you feel accompanied by someone who has had time to grow into the work. Someone who brings perspective shaped by life itself, not just theory.
Much of how I work has been shaped not only by formal training, but by many years of lived experience, both personal and professional. I am guided by maturity, patience, and discernment. You are not rushed through a process or reduced to techniques, but met with thoughtful attention, emotional steadiness, and genuine care.
Being present with people through loss, uncertainty, relationship strain, and major life transitions develops a depth of understanding that cannot be taught in classrooms alone. Over time, this experience tends to sharpen judgement, deepen empathy, and support the ability to stay steady when conversations become emotionally demanding.

What You Can Expect
I can help you understand what feels confusing or heavy. Together, we will unpack what is happening and begin to find clarity within it.
Beyond Clinical Therapy
If you have been in therapy before and it felt clinical or impersonal, or as though you were a case to be managed rather than a person to be understood, this space may feel different. I meet you where you are and work with you to build a relationship where your authentic self is accepted and genuinely understood.
My work balances psychological depth with practical change. Therapy with me is collaborative rather than procedural. I bring warmth, curiosity, and patience to the work, allowing space for complexity without rushing or simplifying what you are carrying. Your story is not something to be assessed quickly or fitted into a framework. It deserves time, attention, and respect.
Who I Work With
For more than 20 years, I have worked with a wide and diverse range of clients, including adolescents, adults, couples, tertiary students, working professionals, and families from diverse cultural, religious, and relational backgrounds. I support individuals navigating depression, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, burnout, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship conflict, divorce, parenting challenges, childhood trauma, LGBTQ matters, anger management, and career guidance.
Whether you are Singaporean, an expatriate, a long-term resident, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here. My practice is inclusive, and my approach is grounded in understanding your lived context, not fitting you into someone else’s model.

Off the Record
or, some fun facts about me you will not find on Linkedin ;-)
Humanitarian Work
I co-founded an anti-human trafficking organisation in Europe. Over more than a decade, we facilitated the rescue of over 500 vulnerable individuals and walked alongside them as they moved beyond addiction, trauma, and violence to rebuild their lives.
Pastoral Work
I serve within pastoral communities across Europe and Asia. This work shapes my approach to counselling and deepens my respect for human resilience in all its forms.
Community Work
In Singapore, I have worked with a number of non-profit organisations, supporting youths with mental health challenges, their families, and adults facing complex personal and marital concerns, often alongside healthcare and community partners.
Cultural Roots
I am of Punjabi and Chinese heritage and have lived in Malaysia and the Netherlands. Singapore has been home for many years and remains the place where my personal life and professional work come together. I speak English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Dutch.
Personal Interests
When I am not working, you will usually find me painting, listening to music, or practising simple ways to slow life down. I enjoy travelling and exploring different cultures, and those experiences quietly influence how I show up in my work.
Family Life
I am married with three adult daughters, who continue to teach me a great deal about growth, relationships, and what really matters.
“I believe everyone deserves a bridge towards a better version of themselves.”
